Baby G Quick Takes

At our ultrasound appointment we found out that I was approximately 22 weeks and 4 days, which would make me about 24 weeks now.

Today I had a doctors appointment. Kent and I spent almost 2 hours there. The doctor measured my belly and said his measurement corresponded with my ultrasound measurements. So, he moved my due date to February 12, 2011! Kent and I also received our flu shots for the year and I had to drink an orange sugary drink to check to see if I might be susceptible to diabetes during my pregnancy. Doctor called later and said my labs looked good and I should have nothing to worry about.

Baby G is quite active and loves to move around. Kent has been able to feel her kick and when she does kick he cheers her on!

Now that we know Baby G is a girl Kent and I have been trying to figure out a name for her. This has been more difficult than we had hoped, but we think we have it narrowed down to three names and think we will probably end up waiting to choose a name until she is born and we see her in person for the first time!

Below are a few belly pictures. I think these are at 23 weeks.

Baby Grunenfelder's Ultrasound

About two weeks ago Kent and I went to our 20 week ultrasound appointment. They checked all of her organs to make sure she was healthy. We also found out that Baby G is a girl! She was very active during her photo session and apparently a little shy as well. The doctor tried to get a photo of her profile, however she decided to flip over and hide. So these were the best photos the doctor could get.

Above Baby G's face, eyes, nose and mouth!

Kent and I decided this was her halloween picture! She kind of looks creepy in this picture!

This was our favorite ultrasound picture! You can see her fingers resting on the side of her face. She looks so peaceful!

Baby Grunenfelder

Finally, the last post of the day! I guess this is what happens when you do not update your blog in a month! Anyways, at my last doctors appointment Kent was able to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time in person. The doctor had a little difficulty finding the heartbeat, but we found it and baby G's heartbeat was around 160 again. I have my next appointment on Sep. 29th and at that appointment we will schedule the first ultrasound and hopefully find out the sex of the baby! I have also taken a few pictures of myself as by belly has grown. Below are pictures from 14 weeks and 17 weeks!

WALLE

Over the past few weeks our cat Walle has found a few ways to make Kent and I smile! He definitely has some interesting and unique ways of laying around the house! I though these pictures were a good display of Walle's personality!

Walle snuggled in between me and the couch!

This is what Walle looks like when he has spent and entire day playing outside! The white spot by my hand is the bottom of his chin! If I slept like this I would have a sore neck!

Walle being spoiled by Kent has he lays on his back!

Walle chillin in the bathtub! He has recently become very fascinated with our bathtub! Kent thinks he misses having his own room to hang out in and has now established that the bathroom is his!

Floating the Little Spokane River

After Kent was finally done with working in Grangeville all summer we decided to spend the day in Spokane floating the Little Spokane River with our friend Jason and his 4 kids. It was a beautiful day outside and even though it was in the upper 70's the water was freezing. Jason and his friend were on a mission to try and dig up a boat from the bottom of the river. Lets just say they made a good attempt, but failed! The kids had lots of fun until one of them almost fell over board, and then everyone started getting tired and hungry. But, overall everyone had a blast and no one fell over board! Below are a few pictures of our float!

Kent and Jason were suppose to jump at the same time! Apparently Jason and Kent were not on the same page!

Kent standing in the very cold water after attempting to do a flip!

While floating we found some bones at the bottom of the river. Not sure what animal they came from!

Jason's friend doing a front flip off the bank!

Kallie Mae wearing my sunglasses and eating hot tamales! Who new young kids liked hot tamales! They did not last very long!

Klara taking break in her fort that uncle Kent built for her and Kallie!

Jason's friend, Kendra, Andre, and Jason floating the river!

While floating we also saw lots of ducks!

Fun in July

Fun in July! Update of what Kent and I have been up to the past few weeks.
Two weekends ago my family had the Speer family reunion which was a lot of fun. Even though Kent had an extremely long drive in my air conditionless car across the state of Washington, he was able to join me and visit with my family. It had been two years since we have been able to go to my family reunion, so I was very happy that we had the opportunity to go this year. The food and visiting was amazing and I hope we will be able to attend next years reunion especially since we will have our newest addition to our family by then.
Last weekend Kent and I celebrated our 1st anniversary as husband and wife. Kent and I decided that he would plan our anniversary this year and he would surprise me. He had me convinced we were going camping outside of Spokane, however as we pulled into Spokane he took a left and headed towards Riverfront Park. I asked him where he was going and he told me our camp ground. I then said and where is our campground. And of course he replied the Davenport hotel. I was very surprised and excited that we were able to spend the weekend in a very nice hotel and not have to worry about anything. Kent did a great job planning our first anniversary! Below are a few pictures I took at our hotel.
The main lobby of the Davenport hotel, which was absolutely gorgeous!

Kent and I in the lobby after eating our delicious dessert from one of the Davenport's restaurants, the Palm Court Grill.

My dessert which was an extremely amazing apple crisp. This will definitely be hard to beat.

Kent's dessert which was a deep fried banana with carmel and chocolate drizzled on top. I was surprised that Kent actually enjoyed the deep fried banana more than the apple crisp considering apple crisp is one of Kent's favorite desserts.
My last piece of exciting news is that on Monday I had my second doctors appointment and was able to listen to our babies heart beat for the first time. Kent was suppose to be there, but was unable to due to a work meeting. However, I was able to record it on my phone. It was definitely an amazing experience and made me even more excited about having a baby with my wonderful husband! I cannot wait to get to hold our little one in 6 months!

Wedding

Last weekend Kent and I attended our friends Chase and Tawny's wedding. I had fun rushing to turn my camera on, take a picture and then turn my camera back off. I had charged my camera for 4 hours, but apparently I need a new battery because when I went to take a picture the battery symbol was signaling that my battery was dead. However, with quick fingers I was able to take quite a few pictures. Kent's favorite part of the night was that I couldn't drink, so he could drink as much as he wanted and I am now the designated driver for the next 9 months!

Kent and I after the ceremony!

Their cake was beautiful! They had to cut the cake soon after dinner so the cake would not collapse from the heat. But, it was delicious!

Tawny's aunt created and assembled all of their centerpieces and flower arrangments! Yes, they were real flowers and smelled amazing!

Idler's Rest

Last weekend I really wanted to go on a hike since we were having such nice weather. So, Kent and I went to Idlers Rest, which is located out towards Moscow Mountain in Idaho. The hiking part of our adventure was not exactly what we thought it would be. Idlers Rest was much smaller than we had hoped, but we still had a lot of fun exploring the area. The most exciting part of our adventure was the mother and baby moose that we happened to stumble upon. I tried to take a picture, but by the time I got my camera out the mother and baby were already headed down the hill. Below are a few pictures from our hiking adventure.
Kent decided he wanted to walk across the fallen tree to get across the river. I told him he would not be able to make it across since the other end of the tree would not hold his weight and would probably break.

This is Kent realizing he may not be able to make it to the end and that his wife may be right.

This is Kent on his walk back across the tree after he realized he would not be able to make it to the end without the tree breaking.

A bumblebee exploring a flower.

Kent and I trying to take a picture on our hike!
Kent pretending to eat the bark of this very tall tree that looked like it would fall over at any minute.

I asked Kent to smile and this is what I got!

I thought since Kent and I live so far away from family that we should start a blog. I have really enjoyed reading my friends blogs and have found it has been a really great way to stay updated on their lives, so I hope that we can keep our family and friends updated on what is going on in our lives.

Hope you enjoy!
