Sunshine, Sand, & Spring

We finally purchased sand for Emma's sandbox!  I was very excited that the weather was nice enough for Emma and I to play in her new sandbox courtesy of Grandpa Dave!  During our adventures to the beach last summer we found out that Emma loves to play in the sand, so we new we needed a sandbox.  The weather was perfect and we had a blast.  Emma loved digging with her shovel and tossing the sand around.  We did have to have a talk about not throwing the sand and leaving the sand in the sandbox, but after that she seemed to keep the sand in the box.  Now all we need is more sunshine and warm weather so we can spend more time in Emma's sandbox.  Hopefully spring will show up soon!!!

Emma's new sandbox!
She was pretty excited!

Not so sure about sand in her toes!

New roommates!

After coming home from visiting family for two weeks Emma and I found we had some new roommates living in our kitchen.  Yes we have MICE!!!  I have always told Kent I do not care if they are in the breeze way or our garbage, so why couldn't they just stay where they belong.  Kent spent the weekend searching the house trying to figure out where they were coming from.  We set mice traps and Kent sprayed foam around our pipes under the sink.  Well I woke up today and checked the traps and found a dead mouse.  Of course Kent is gone now so I get to do the honors of disposing of the little critter.  YUCK!!!  But I put on a brave face and was able to dispose of the mouse.

I was not the only one to catch a mouse this weekend either.  Our wonderful cat Walle caught and killed his first mouse.  Kent and I are very proud of Walle since he his not always the smartest cat.  Kent thought he should have taken a picture of Walle's first kill and hang it on the wall with Kent's deer horns.  Never been so proud of my cat killing mice.  Usually I feel bad for the critters, but when they are in your home it is a totally different story.  So, hopefully between the mouse traps and Walle maybe the mice will get the hint to stay away!

Go Walle!

Emma's Walking Adventure

Over the past 3 weeks Emma has slowly started to walk a little more each day.  This week she seems to enjoy walking more than crawling.  She is walking to get her toys and to move about the house.  Emma also found a new way to look at the world around her.  (see video below)

Favorite Moments of Emma

Here are some of our favorite photos of Emma from that past few months.
Since there has not been much snow I try to make sure we get outside when it does.  Emma is not so sure about sledding, but loves to cuddle and eat the snow.  This is one of my favorite photos of Emma!

One of many silly photos of Emma.  As her hair gets longer the crazier it gets after bath time!

Emma's first pig tails!  Surprisingly enough she leaves them in.
Here Emma was not feeling well so she sat in her chair and watched Sesame Street (one of her favorite cartoons).  We had a cuddle day since we were both not feeling well!

Here is messy Emma!!!  I think she was eating spaghetti, but i'm not sure.

Valentine's Day 2012

For Valentine's Day Emma and I baked a cherry pie for Kent.  He absolutely loves pie and since I do not make them as often as he probably would like I thought it would be a special surprise for him.  Emma painted her daddy a beautiful picture for her second Valentine's Day.  Kent pointed out that Valentine's Day was Emma's first, second holiday.  Since Valentine's Day fell on Tuesday Emma and I drove to Lewiston to have lunch with Kent.  We packed our picnic basket with yummy food and our gifts for Kent.  Emma also wore her new onesie that said "daddy's little sweetheart" and her new lady bug leggings auntie Laura bought her for Valentine's Day.  He really enjoyed his pie even though I forgot to add a sugar to the cherries (it was a little tart).  Emma had lots of fun flirting with Kent's co-workers.  It was nice to see where Kent works and enjoy lunch with him.
