A few weekends ago my dad came down to Corvallis to visit and took us to Crater Lake for the weekend. It was Emma's second time camping and according to Kent this was Emma's first official camping trip at a campground. She toughed it out in the freezing temperatures during the night. The cold did not seem to bother her at all. When she woke up though her hands felt like icicles. My dad signed us up for a boat tour of the crater where we hiked down into the crater which was equivalent to hiking down 65 flights of stairs, riding around the crater in a boat and stopping at Wizard Island for 3 hours to explore. Kent and I were amazed out how blue the water was. It was absolutely gorgeous. This was also the first time Emma used her hiking backpack. We were not sure if she would like it, but she did great and enjoyed being up high. On our last day we drove around the lake and stopped at all of the view points and then had lunch at the gift shop. It was a great camping trip and we will definitely go back someday!
